Doxorubicin 50 mg Injection

Doxorubicin is an anthracycline anticancer (chemotherapy) medicine used to treat a wide range of solid tumors and blood cancers. It works by inhibiting DNA replication and topoisomerase II, leading to cancer cell death.

Typical Strength

Doxorubicin Hydrochloride Injection 50 mg/25 mL (2 mg/mL).
Administered intravenously only by trained oncology professionals.

Important Warnings

        Cardiotoxicity: Risk of irreversible heart damage, especially at higher cumulative doses.

        Bone marrow suppression: Can cause severe neutropenia, anemia, and thrombocytopenia.

        Extravasation: Leakage outside the vein can cause severe tissue injury.

        Contraindicated in severe heart failure, severe hepatic impairment, or severe persistent myelosuppression.

        Hair loss

        Nausea and vomiting

        Mouth ulcers (mucositis)

        Fatigue

        Low blood counts

        Red discoloration of urine for 12 days after administration (expected)
